2024 is now a memory and with our reunion more good memories, below is a note from Don Cascini our host for Asheville 2024. Thanks for the great job Don.
It was great to see all our reunion troop members and families at the Asheville Reunion. It was a relaxing, few days for all to get together and go over times of the past.
Asheville is a mecca for tourists and so many things to experience. There was a shuttle available at the hotel entrance which provided attendees the opportunity to visit the Biltmore Estate, the Arts District, Biltmore Village and many other areas of interest.
Rich Stefani was so gracious to bring his Sprint car with a list of all our brothers who had fallen, as well as fallen veterans from his hometown.
We especially want to thank, Colonel (ret) U.S. Army, Albion Bergstrom for an informative, professional presentation. There were pictures from the time we all served in Vietnam and Al gave us an understanding of global current events.
Unfortunately, the following week left much of Asheville destroyed by Hurricane Helene. We were fortunate all our families were able to leave the weekend before it devastated the area. Please keep them in your prayers, as this will take a very long time to recover.
Hoping all the Troopers and their families had an enjoyable and blessed set of holidays. Looking forward to seeing everyone at the next reunion. Don Cascini
From Chairman’s Corner;
I have always been extremely proud of my fellow Cav Members and my time in Viet Nam. Like Rag, Stefani, and others who made statements of their time in the service on their vehicles, I did the same on my airplane. I built this from a kit and a wrecked airplane. The FAA let me assign the numbers 412CV. The logo on the tail I believe came from John JT Tillman. Cav colors of course. It can do 220 mph and pull 6 gee’s. I am not Crazy. Regards John Sharpe.
